Our California Coastal adventure continues with a port-of-call in Los Angeles, the ship actually docked in Long Beach, one of two cruise ports used for
LA cruises.  The other cruise ship port is about 4 miles from Long Beach at San Pedro. 

Long Beach is the home to the Queen Mary, once the most luxurious and fastest Transatlantic ship in the world.  She is now a hotel, restaurant, and bar that also offers tours of this marvel of the Golden Age of cruising.  Once you stepped of our ship the white ship with the distinctive black hull of Cunard Line is permanently berthed at the pier.  A gigantic dome that once housed Howard Hughes’s “Spruce Goose”, the world’s largest all wood airplane (to avoid radar detection), now dismantled and in an air museum in Oregon, serves a the cruise terminal.  This terminal rivals those in Florida
