One of the most talked about aspects of any cruise is the food. The sheer quantity as well as quality is overwhelming. There are so many meal and snack opportunities it will make your head spin.

Most people on a cruise seem to prefer the buffet for breakfast and lunch. You can also enjoy a casual dinner in the buffet any evening although I personally have never had dinner at the buffet, instead always enjoying the atmosphere and choices of the main restaurant.
The breakfast options certainly will satisfy any preferences you may have, yet are pretty much the same every morning. From cereals, fruits, pastries, breads for every taste, eggs any style, meats, cheeses, and my favorite, the custom made omlets. One can also have breakfast served in the main dining room and choose from eggs benedict, salmon with cream cheese and bagels, etc. If you are up late or just plain relaxing then there is always room service.

Lunch has many more options. Each day there is a different lunch theme like Mexican, Italian, etc. This is in addition to the standard daily fare of salads, delicious deli sandwiches, fruits, hamburgers and hot dogs by the pool, and pizza available 24 hours a day. The dining room also offers different lunch options and again there is always room service any time you are hungry.

Diner presents a whole new set of options. Each evening you are presented with at least six to eight new and different “starter” choices. Several cold or hot soups, different salads, and tempting appetizers. It is generally very difficult to make your choices. On this cruise you are presented with six different main course options every evening. There is always a fish, red meat, poultry, vegetarian, and pasta choice. To end the meal you have several desert choices. If all that were not enough, every evening you can also choose from standard selections like a shrimp coctail, caesar salad, broiled Mahi Mahi, Brilled Breast of Corn Fed Chicken, Grilled Flat Iron Steak, with all the vegetable and potatoe accompiaments. Standard deserts of either fruit plate, Ice Creams, Cheese plate, or Carnival Cruise Lines signature desert, the Warm Chocolate Melting Cake. That is like eating liquid fudge.

We have enjoyed two very special dinners on this cruise. One evening we had dinner in the specialty restaurant, the Nouveau Steakhouse. WOW. The second was a once in a lifetime experience, the Chefs Table. An INCREDIBLE evening. More on those two experiences tomorrow.

Writing this made me hungry, so I’m going to breakfast now.

Until tomorrow,
Bon Voyage!
