Welcome to my first live blog from the Norwegian EPIC while sailing on a 7 night Western Caribbean cruise to Costa Maya, Mexico; Roatan Honduras; and Cozumel, Mexico round trip from Miami.

The first impression and words that came to mind as we drove up to the port on Saturday was “Holy Ship”. The EPIC is humongous. Unbelievable large, pure white with the NCL signature graphics along the bow section of the ship. Fast and easy check-in for such a large passenger capacity ship let alone any ship.

She is less than three months old and everything inside is fresh and clean. Beautifully decorated. In fact, some of the crew were busy putting up christmas trees and decorations. After a lunch buffet in the Garden Cafe and then sitting by the pool listening to the Caribbean band playing music, we went to our balcony stateroom on deck 11 and watched as we sailed out of Miami on a beautiful sunny 80 degree day.

Went to dinner in The Manhattan Room. This was a through back to the 30’s and 40’s dinner club dining complete with a live band playing and dining guest dancing in front of the band stand. We had a great dinner with exceptional service and after dinner went to the EPIC Theater for the Blue Man Group performance. This was the first time I have seen them perform. What a show. Worth the price of the cruise. An hour and a half of techno music, comedy, audience participation. Probably the most professional and best entertainment I have ever seen on a cruise ship. All I can say is SPECTACULAR. It was a blast.

We were really tired and slept until 9:00 today. It is an at sea day and just plan on exploring the ship until our dinner reservation at the Italian Restaurant, La Cucina this evening. That will be followed by a couple of martinis in the only Ice Bar at sea.

Until tomorow, Bon Voyage!
