Cruise Holidays headquarters always plans an exciting week of activities for our convention mixing work with pleasure.  One of the many reasons the conventions is always held on different cruise lines, cruise ships, and destinations is to have the franchise owners personally experience as broad a range the cruising options available which is invaluable in placing our clients on the right ship and destination that best fits the clients lifestyle and budget.  One increasing component of the complete cruising experience is specialty dining.

Almost all of the newer ships are being built with multiple specialty restaurants offering a variety of cuisines.  In theory, these intimate onboard restaurants offer unique dining opportunities that enhance the cruising experience. Most have an additional up charge not covered in the base cruise fare.

The Eurodam has three such restaurants.  The Pinnacle Grill, a steakhouse; Tamarind, Pan Asian cuisine and Canaletto, Italian specialties.  The Cruise Holidays team arranged for every franchise owner to experience one of these specialty restaurants during the week.  With 178 franchise owners and their spouses onboard, each franchise was assigned a specific evening and restaurant.  All along I kept hopeing that I would be assigned the Pinnacle Grill and not either of the other two.  Thank goodness my desire to experience the steakhouse was assigned to me.

The ambiance was delightful, the food fabulous, all in an intimate setting with superb service.  I had a filet with a Burgundy peppercorn sauce that you could cut with the fork.  The desert that I did not order but was the best presentation was a creme brulee done three ways on a unique three section wavy plate.  All said and done, the experience was great but I must say that the service, presentation, flavour, and variety of the food in the main dining restaurant is of such a high standard that the specialty restaurant was not that different an experience on this ship.

In talking with other franchise owners that experienced the other two specialty restaurants I was told that the food and service was immaculate.

Until tomorrow,
Bon Voyage
